We obtained the Samsung Freestyle portable projector and tested it for brightness, picture quality, audio quality and ease of use both indoors and on a covered outdoor patio. Still, for simplicity and convenience, the Freestyle is hard to ignore. We also had a little trouble with its auto leveling. The picture was good, but we found the USB-C power cable too short for outdoors. We tested this projector both indoors and on a patio. In our testing, despite its size, we found the 360-degree speaker particularly impressive based on its solid sound. It can display images you upload yourself, and it even acts as a light source. The Freestyle uses Wi-Fi for streaming apps. Its LED lamp is rated for 20,000 hours, and we found the 1080p image both clear and bright, although Samsung doesn’t specify its brightness in ANSI lumens. A short-throw projector, the Freestyle needs a distance of between 2.6 and 8.8 feet for images 30 to 100 inches in size. If simplicity is your priority, it’s tough to beat the Samsung Freestyle Smart Portable Projector, which is easy to transport and boasts a point-and-play setup: you set it down, aim it and let it adjust the picture for you. ![]() Samsung The Freestyle FHD HDR Smart Portable Projector Another great choice, the ViewSonic PX706HD Short Throw Projector is not 4K but packs a lot of value into its sub-$1,000 cost. We researched the available models and performed our own testing, and we think Samsung’s The Premiere LSP7T 120-inch 4K Smart Laser Projector offers the best combination of features and performance in a home theater projector. Don’t forget to check a projector’s speakers and audio and whether its fan makes too much noise. Other specs to examine include resolution, such as 1080p HD or, for an even sharper picture, 4K contrast ratio, or how bright or dark the projector’s image gets and lamp life, or how long the illumination (bulb, LED, laser) lasts. A good range for home theater projectors is between 1,000 and 2,500 ANSI lumens, especially if you dim the lights and close the blinds. The greater the brightness, the better the picture. Ultra short-throw projectors sit very close to a screen or wall and shine their picture upward.Īnother key spec to look at is brightness, measured in ANSI lumens. Standard-throw projectors need to be across the room, while short-throw projectors sit near the viewer. One word you see a lot of when shopping for projectors is “throw.” This figure tells you how far the projector needs to be from the wall or screen to project a clear picture. Nowadays, many home theater projectors can play almost anything a smart TV can, including streaming video.Ĭompared to a 100-inch TV, a home theater projector is smaller, lighter and, in many cases, more practical. ![]() Home theater projectors create pictures equal to or larger than the biggest TVs - and they do it the movie theater way, by shining light onto a wall or projector screen. ![]() If a big TV just isn’t enough, it may be time to invest in a home theater projector. Though Fuse tried to offer her his arm, Maggie refused and fell to what Fuse assumed was her death. The resulting explosion sent both flying and they ended up dangling off a ledge. Maggie attempted to blast Fuse and the other Legends with her ship’s guns, but he managed to stop it with a grenade. Fuse tried to make his old friend understand why he wanted to leave one last time, but she wouldn’t have it. All of them managed to escape and, upon landing, Mad Maggie initiated another confrontation. As the trio took off, a missile took their ship right back down. With Lifeline in tow, they pursued Mad Maggie but were ambushed by her. She had previously rigged explosives throughout King’s Canyon, which she triggered and caused enough devastation to completely alter the map.Īfter the King’s Canyon crash, Fuse was willing to just give Maggie his other arm, but Bloodhound convinced him to go after her instead. Though he managed to shut the ship down, Maggie had another trick up her sleeve. When Walter tried to defy her, she used the ship’s weapon systems to blast at the gathered spectators. King’s Canyon and Armageddonĭuring his debut in the Apex Games, Mad Maggie hacked the ship Fuse was coming in on and demanded that the other Legends provide her with his other arm, or else. Unsurprisingly, Fuse left Salvo after that to pursue the Apex Games, replacing his lost arm with a robotic prosthetic. ![]() ![]() Fuse was chosen as the next Legend to debut in the Apex Games as a representative of the newly joined planet.Īngered by Salvo joining the Syndicate and Fuse’s upcoming departure, Maggie pulled the pin on a golden grenade she and Fuse had found as children and threw it at him, blowing his arm off. This changed when Salvo joined the original six Syndicate planets, however. Unfortunately for Fuse, because Salvo wasn’t part of the Syndicate Alliance of Free Worlds (a group of planets in the Outlands ruled by the Mercenary Syndicate that run the Apex Games), he wasn’t allowed to compete. Despite his success in competitive combat at home, Fuse had his sights set higher: The Apex Games. The former aspired to become Salvo’s next ruling warlord, while the latter felt the call of the planet’s gladiatorial arena, the Bonecage.Īs Maggie threw herself completely into Salvo’s independence movement, Fuse became the oldest competitor in the Bonecage at 51, racking up 21 victories in a row. But, as they got older, Maggie and Fuse’s goals started to diverge. The pair were inseparable as youths and made for a formidable mercenary duo. ![]() Walter “Fuse” Fitzroy and Margaret “Mad Maggie” Kōhere were friends as children, growing up on the planet Salvo, long before either had picked up those monikers. These two characters share a past that’s deeply intertwined. Mad Maggie and Fuse’s Apex Legends backstory Now that Maggie has entered the arena herself, things will likely only become more wild from here. The pair have a long history together, one that has already gotten the other participants of the Apex Games involved. This time, instead of focusing on Horizon and Ash, the season is all about the new competitor, Mad Maggie, and our favorite explosives expert, Fuse. A new season of Apex Legends is here and, much like its predecessor, Defiance is driven by interpersonal drama between Legends. ![]() You also want to make sure that the fonts you choose compliment the overall look of your logo. This is something that everyone should avoid. However, they might end up wishing for the character since the community labels that 5 star as meta. Now, every character that comes out is unique, and there are times when a player might not need a character that everyone else does. This gives the option for players to plan things beforehand. One of the best things about Genshin Impact is that the developers usually announce when a new 5 star character is set to come out in a future patch. This is not only a waste of primogems, but if players end up obtaining the 5 star, which they never wanted to begin with, then it damages the character pity, which the player might have been saving for someone new. In most cases, this is an absolute disaster. Therefore, it is highly possible that players will get all the other characters, including the 5 star, but not the 4 star that they want. They could potentially get other 4 stars that are not part of the banner as well. Therefore, there is no guarantee that the 4 star that players obtain will be the one that they want. Now, it is important to realize that a single banner always consists of three 4 star characters. In such a situation, several players, out of sheer greed, would end up pulling the banner expecting to obtain the new 4 star, even if the 5 star is not worth obtaining. However, banners often consist of an old and outdated 5 star but a new and intriguing 4 star. ![]() Every ten pulls guarantees a 4 star character, and every 90 pulls guarantees a 5 star character.
